Q How does one make provision for a through the floor lift?
A The most economic and simplest solution is to trim the joists. The various manufacturers build lifts to different specifications and sizes. Generally a provision of 1100x1100mm will be adequate for most through the floor lifts. We recommend you contact your local supplier for the most up to date information on specifications.
It is important to ensure that the space for a future lift is clearly marked on any floor surface (e.g. hardboard, MDF or chipboard) so that in future years, occupants/designers will know where the lift provision is located.
