Q What must I provide now and what can I make provision for later?
A There are several criteria which specify what needs to be in place now, there are others which require provision for future adaptations to the home. Generally the items which make a home accessible are required to be in place. The items that make the home adaptable must also be in place, however the adaptations themselves do not.
For example: From the outset doors should have clear opening widths as per standard 6. The shower provision in standard 10 means that there should be drainage provision for a future shower. It does not mean that one has to install a sloping floor or a waterproof finish.
