The threshold upstand should not exceed 15mm.

Comparison and comments in relation to relevant paragraphs of Approved Document M, 2004 (Part M)
The LTH requirement that all entrances should be lit is not a Part M requirement.
As LTH requires that the approach to all entrances achieve the Part M ‘level’ or ‘ramped’ approach, there is consistency with the Part M requirement for an accessible threshold on the entrance with these approaches. However, the LTH requirement is that this approach and accessible threshold is made available to ALL entrances.

The technical definition of a Part M ‘accessible threshold’ satisfies the LTH requirement of ‘level access over the threshold’.

The LTH requirement for cover at the main entrance is not a Part M requirement.
